When Will the Next Book Come Out?
Out of the Ashes Audible Release!
At the end of June, Tim Gerard Reynolds completed the audiobook narration for Out of the Ashes. It's no secret that I'm a hug fan of Tim's work, and to hear my favorite narrator bring my characters to life was incredibly special. With Tim's part complete, it was time for Michael, Robin, and me to trek to D.C. to record our authors' notes and afterwords (and to check out some great restaurants, of course).
The Audible release date for Out of the Ashes will be October 6. To pick up a copy, you can preorder from Audible by clicking below (no Audible subscription is required).
KICKSTARTER LAUNCH!
The Kickstarter for Out of the Ashes (book one of the After the Fall series) will go live at noon (EDT) on Wednesday, September 2 and run until 8 pm (EDT) on September 29. The amazing Marc Simonetti is back with a beautiful original cover for the hardback edition, and the deluxe edition was designed by Sarah Sullivan, who continues her tradition of creating intricate covers for books in the Elan saga.
Three types of formats will be available: ebook, hardcover, and deluxe hardcover. Those who choose ebooks will receive them directly after the conclusion of the Kickstarter. The physical books will ship after printing (likely in March) and be in your hands before retail versions of the book are available.

AUTHOR NATION
I'll be making my first ever public appearance at Author Nation, which will run from November 10-13 in Las Vegas. Adam Grandy will be presenting his film Indie Author, and I'll be joining a Q&A panel of writers who were featured in the film. If you're planning on being at the convention, stop by and say hi!
RiyriaCon 2026
RiyriaCon, a gathering for Riyria fans by Riyria fans, will return to Luray, Va October 9-12. Created as a labor of love by the organizer, Matthew, the event is free to attend thanks to proceeds from Matthew's online Riyria store (which you can find at the link below). A convention just for Riyria fans? Yes, indeed! The inaugural RiyriaCon—conceived, organized, and brought to life by Michael's amazing Discord fans—took place July 24-27 2025 in Luray, Va. Activities included a hike in Shenandoah National Park, a tour of Luray Caverns, a screening of Indie Author, poolside readings and cookouts, individual interviews with Michael, Robin, and me, and general camaraderie and merrymaking. Thanks to all who made RiyriaCon a warm, welcoming, and unforgettable experience!
